Four-man
gang robbed
Letter Kenny family
Four armed bandits held up a Letter Kenny, Corentyne family and made off with close to $250,000 in cash and jewelry yesterday morning.
The men had gained entry to the house by removing several window panes, while the family was asleep.
Reports reaching this newspaper stated that around 04:00 hours the men, after entering the house, awoke two brothers who were asleep in one of the bedrooms of the house before proceeding to awake the entire family which included 69-year-old pensioner Lionel Budhoo.
The bandits, who were masked and carried handguns, ordered the family to lie face down on the floor, while demanding cash and jewelry.
They also assaulted the pensioner and then ransacked the house.
In the process they unearthed the cash and jewelry totaling $230,000 and then made good their escape.
